Whipped Body Butter

Want to know how to make wonderfully whipped body butter that will leave your skin silky smooth all day long? This is the recipe that I use.

Ingredients:

You will need something to use as a double boiler. I use my glass measuring cup and a small pot. Add in all of your ingredients and set the cup into the water and turn the heat to medium. Once everything is melted down and the liquid is a clearish yellow color, pour the liquid into a decent sized bowl. (Use one that you would typically use to mix a cake in). Put into the freezer for about 30 minutes or until it was all hardened.

Now is the time to mix, you will need some sort of electric hand mixer or a counter top kitchen aid mixer. If you do it by hand, well, good luck. The first time I did it, it was by hand and was very difficult. I also ended up with chunky body butter that had no resemblance to being whipped.

If the mixture is too hardened for the mixers whisks to penetrate, use a spoon to break it into pieces. You will need to mix it for at least 30 minutes. It will start to look like whipped icing.

Once it is nice and smooth, use a spatula to put into a small jar. This should make just over 8oz of body butter.

***Optional: If you aren’t a fan of the natural smell of all the ingredients, you can put about 10 drops of your favorite fragrance oil. I prefer to use Vanilla because it matches beautifully with the cocoa butter and ends up smelling like cupcakes!
